Normal Business Hours to Resume Tuesday!

I'm happy to announce that my surgery is done, and I'm now on the road to recovery!
I wish that I had been feeling better this week to be able to be at the store working more, although the rest I've gotten was very important to make sure I do heal. It will take longer than expected, I'm glad the worst is over.

I want to assure you that normal business hours should resume as soon as Tuesday. I feel terrible for missing such a great weekend, as its "National Scrapbooking Day"! I will extend the sale I had planned for Saturday into the next week, so please come in and see what we have "in store" for our customers!

In addition, I have also gotten in some fabulous new inventory that is "all about MOM", so come in and get supplies for a card, a scrapbook page, mini album or a 12x12 memory frame for gifts for that special Mom in your life!

As always, we have many other services available, so come on in and take a look around!

Sadly...

I have been injured...
I have a broken thumb (on my right hand of course! LOL) and there is a chance that recovery will take some time, maybe even 2 months... While this makes a lot of things harder, I do want to assure you all that I will be doing my best to provide the best customer service that I can. I hope that you can be patient with me during this time and lets all hope for a speedy recovery! I already miss working on my "fun stuff", and its only been 2 days!

At the Scrapbook Expo...

I have been to the Scrapbook Expo and have so many things to share!

First thing that I am super excited about are the fabulous mini-albums I found and a great little adhesive that works for embossing, glitter, small beads and flocking! I hope that I will be able to get those into the store soon so that I can share them with YOU as well!

Today I attended a class about DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING and also found a new magazine that is being published about using TRADITIONAL and DIGITAL methods TOGETHER to create something awesome! I spoke with the instructor and she actually trains people like ME (me being the person who has barely figured out how to do a blog, let alone digital scrapping!) to teach my customers how to use both methods to make a scrapbook page really POP!

As excited as its been I do have to take a break now, I'm going back later this afternoon to visit with a few more vendors and see what other great things I can bring to the Creation place!

Stay tuned in for more!

I will be opening the store again Tuesday at 10am, hope to see you there!

"Rebel" Scrapbooking!

What does that mean?
Scrapbooking tatoos? Crazy frat-like Scrapbook parties?
Well, maybe... I'll do it if you will... LOL

No, we aren't going crazy here, just thinking a little "out of the book", so to speak!

Rebellious Creativity Rules-

There are NO RULES!

Memory preservation is just that, preserving YOUR MEMORIES,
and since they are YOURS that means you can do it how ever YOU WANT TO!

Starting today, do it YOUR WAY, find YOUR STYLE, and use YOUR PICTURES and YOUR MEMORIES however YOU WANT TO!

Just for instance- SOMETHING NEW IS ON ITS WAY to
the Creation place!
There is a line of picture pockets that are available in 12"x12", 8 1/2"x11" and 8"x8" sizes, you simply slide in a few photos, maybe make one journaling card for another pocket and there you have it!
That takes off all that pressure of coming up with a WHOLE PAGE, instead you can use a smaller decorative area for journaling, preserve your photos and let others enjoy them as well! You can also put these pages between other designed pages that you have already done, replace them later with a finished page if you want to as well! Any way YOU WANT!

Its COLD outside, what better time to come to the Creation place and get those photos of your Christmas holiday or summer vacation in an album? Or the pictures from the family reunion sitting still waiting to be released from your memory card? Now is the time to come enjoy the work room, away from the snow and cold!

What is so great about scrapbooking anyway?

Scrapbooking is a fun, engaging craft based on creating albums with photos, decorative papers and embellishments that provides a relaxing and creative outlet for people of all ages!

Memory Crafting is a perfect hobby designed for preserving the milestones of our lives by placing photos on a page and journaling the memories.

Mini-Albums are a quick and easy way to make projects that capture and save a memory for years to come.

Many other projects stem from the use of scrapbooking papers, embellishments and your photos. Some of those can include shadowboxes, framed art, card making, invitations, party favors and more!

You don't have to be an expert to give scrapbooking a try!
You don't have to be a designer, you don't even have to be "crafty" with kits and papers designed to look like finished layouts, its easy to create great-looking pages!

the Creation place is here to help you with your scrapbooking and memory crafting needs!

One of our greatest features is the Upstairs Work Room, supplied with plenty of work space, die cutters by SIZZIX, CRICUT, and SLICE, as well as many other tools of the trade. There are many ideas available in our "Creation Library"- with books and magazines that arrive with fresh ideas every month! The work room is always open and available during business hours, ask us about a "Work Room Pass" on your next visit!

This is the beginning of a new adventure!

So I have never done a blog before, so please bear with me while I figure it out and make it something interesting and of course CREATIVE!

To begin with I will introduce myself and tell you about
"the Creation place"

My name is Jenn and I grew up in Bridger Valley. I spent 10 years living in the Salt Lake City area where scrapbooking is a HUGE business, an area where many new and exciting things are created and sold. I truly enjoyed my time living there, then a little over a year ago my husband was offered an opportunity that he couldn't refuse, to begin his own DIRECTV business here in Wyoming, so that is what brought us here. Adjusting to small town life again has been interesting, and it has become great as well!
I have been a stay-at-home mom for about 4 years now, and I help my husband run his business by doing lots and lots of paperwork. Over the summer I found my creative streak again and started creating things that range from scrapbooks to frames, shadowboxes, home decor and many other things. I enjoy working with papers and wood, paints and inks, all the things that help preserve memories! When I was offered an opportunity to begin my own creation place, I jumped right in with both feet! Some days its challenging and some days its just SO much fun! I hope to take this opportunity and run with it, I have some fun creative ideas and some that may just be a little crazy, but I really truly enjoy what I am doing!

I have been inspired over the years by many creative people around me. One of the most influential people was my mother. While I was growing up I watched her create many things like clothing and quilts. The most amazing thing she did was decorating wedding cakes, true works of art! She also made us scrapbooks when those things weren't what they are today. She did however take the time to journal and to save momentos of events that happened in our lives, and to this day the book she made for me is very inspiring.
My Grandma also had many talents, she painted and she made some of the most amazing quilts for her children and grandchildren. I was very fortunate to be able to spend time with her while she worked on a quilt that my baby uses to this day. Her talents were a great inspiration in the works that I try to create to this day.
My oldest daughter is 9 years old now, and I began making a scrapbook for her when she was a few years old. I had the opportunity at the time to know a girl who made the neatest scrapbooks for her kids and family, and she taught me so much about crafting these wonderful memories into something that can last!

Over time I have learned many things about making scrapbooks, from the simplest designs to the more elaborate, its a great way to preserve precious memories of our lives. I hope to share that love of memory preservation with all of you!
