To begin with I will introduce myself and tell you about
"the Creation place"
My name is Jenn and I grew up in Bridger Valley. I spent 10 years living in the Salt Lake City area where scrapbooking is a HUGE business, an area where many new and exciting things are created and sold. I truly enjoyed my time living there, then a little over a year ago my husband was offered an opportunity that he couldn't refuse, to begin his own DIRECTV business here in Wyoming, so that is what brought us here. Adjusting to small town life again has been interesting, and it has become great as well!
I have been a stay-at-home mom for about 4 years now, and I help my husband run his business by doing lots and lots of paperwork. Over the summer I found my creative streak again and started creating things that range from scrapbooks to frames, shadowboxes, home decor and many other things. I enjoy working with papers and wood, paints and inks, all the things that help preserve memories! When I was offered an opportunity to begin my own creation place, I jumped right in with both feet! Some days its challenging and some days its just SO much fun! I hope to take this opportunity and run with it, I have some fun creative ideas and some that may just be a little crazy, but I really truly enjoy what I am doing!
I have been inspired over the years by many creative people around me. One of the most influential people was my mother. While I was growing up I watched her create many things like clothing and quilts. The most amazing thing she did was decorating wedding cakes, true works of art! She also made us scrapbooks when those things weren't what they are today. She did however take the time to journal and to save momentos of events that happened in our lives, and to this day the book she made for me is very inspiring.
My Grandma also had many talents, she painted and she made some of the most amazing quilts for her children and grandchildren. I was very fortunate to be able to spend time with her while she worked on a quilt that my baby uses to this day. Her talents were a great inspiration in the works that I try to create to this day.
My oldest daughter is 9 years old now, and I began making a scrapbook for her when she was a few years old. I had the opportunity at the time to know a girl who made the neatest scrapbooks for her kids and family, and she taught me so much about crafting these wonderful memories into something that can last!
Over time I have learned many things about making scrapbooks, from the simplest designs to the more elaborate, its a great way to preserve precious memories of our lives. I hope to share that love of memory preservation with all of you!
